What a great way to start this blog off! After two months of studying, I finally took the plunge on the test on June 29th, and I've already received my confirmation of endorsement. I'm pretty surprised at the turnaround, actually, since ISC2 said it would be 4-6 weeks before I got a response.
My study plan and technique focused heavily on practice tests from Boson and Sybex. I would set up 150 question practice tests, review my performance by domain, and then do focused read-throughs of the domains I failed. Rinse, repeat, pass! I did this for about 6 weekends in a row, and by the last weekend I was consistently scoring in the 80-90% range.
Even with that consistently high score, I did feel as though the test was difficult. The questions were significantly trickier, and seemed to focus more on the conceptual underpinnings of "why" we do things, rather than "how" or "when." The importance of a high-level understanding of the foundational logic between the design of a system or process cannot be understated.
Anyhow, here's the cert!
